2014: Year of the Open-Class Naked Bike

At least once a year there’s a test we especially look forward to. For 2014, this is it: a comprehensive comparison of modern, high-performance “naked” streetbikes. Why? Because this crop of bare-chested beasts represents not only a resurgence in the category but also an important shift in emphasis. In recent years, naked bikes were often [...]

Ducati Hypermotard SP | SHORT SHIFT

They say:
 “Unmistakably motard.”  We say:
“Hate. This. Clutch. Love. This. Bike.”
When Aaron Frank went to Spain to ride the Hypermotard last year (First Ride, June ’13, MC), he only sampled the up-spec SP version within the opulent confines of the Ascari Race Resort, no doubt gobbling caviar between sessions. That kid is spoiled [...]

2014 Ducati Hypermotard SP Review + Video

By Troy Siahaan
Around the MO offices, we’re filled with excitement and restraint whenever a motorcycle with “motard” in its name enters our graces. This is especially true when we took delivery of the $14,995 Ducati Hypermotard SP. With its high ground clearance, light weight, abundance of power, and dirtbike-like agility, we were anxious to rip [...]

2014 Ducati Monster 1200S First Ride

By: Justin Dawes
In 2013 Ducati redesigned the Hypermotard and inserted the Testastretta 11 engine inside its trellis frame, much to the dismay of some Hyper purists. This left only the everyman’s Ducati, the Monster, with an air-cooled Twin, but it was obvious to anyone paying attention to the development of recent offerings from the Italian [...]

Ducati 1199 Panigale R review: Totally awesome, Duke.

“AWESOME”. That was how a lad of around 17 described Ducati’s Panigale R soon after I parked up on Brighton seafront.
It’s a superlative that has crept across the Atlantic and become increasingly overused here – especially by teenage boys – but in this case, it’s entirely apt.
This is a machine which truly inspires awe.
It looks [...]
